I’m assuming the rainbows on these cupcakes are some sort of fruit flavored candy type thing? I’ve never seen anything like it, can you buy it in stores? Was it made just for these cakes? Are those clouds marshmallow? Because if they are, watch out! I’m coming for ya!

Copy & paste this:

It’s sour candy. You can buy long strips of it at most bulk candy stores. It’s flexy.
It’s the new variety of Airheads candy. Each of those strips is a different flavor, but it’s connected, so you can choose whether to eat it as 5 strips or 1 big one. You can buy them anywhere, even the movie theatre concession stand.
SOUR STRAPS!!! Must Have
The rainbows are made out of Airhead Extremes it looks like, and mixed with the icing would either be really yummy or not so much.
BUT IT LOOKS FREAKIN’ ADORABLE!! Which is the point.
Airheads Xtreme-rainbow ribbons. More cuteness with food at airheads.com
they’re candies made by airhead, some sour concoction you can find at the front of the store at check out or in the candy section.
Air Heads Xtremes <3 I can haz?
those candies are actually quite common, at least in Canada. they’re slightly sour/tart (i remember, i haven’t had them in a while) slightly chewy, similar in taste to sour patch kids. except less chewy. haven’t had them in a while, but i remembered that much. can’t remember what they’re called, sorry.
They’re, as kat said, like a sour patch, they are really common in the netherlands! I’m going to make this as soon as I have a reason to make cupcakes
I see them in convenience stores on the counter all the time, too. Then again, I’m also in Canada. They’re nice, but not the sort of thing you’d want to eat every day. They might also not go too well with cupcakes, but I think that the looks are more important than the taste for these adorable little things. You wouldn’t even have to eat one to be cheered up.

I see them in the Asian food store around here.
They are also available in America as I love these things (I am a big sour candy fan)… They are Airhead Xtremes (or something like that)…
They are called Tangy Zangy strips
Here is the company website it has info on all their products
http://www.tangyzangy.com/
My brother loves these things
Oh the site also has a list of retailers in Canada, USA, and Australia.
those look like air heads extremes, or something like that, I live in the US and you can find them at convenience stores
These are the very beloved (in my house anyway) Air Heads Xtremes. They are just the right balance of sweet and sour, and are perfect for snacking your face off on a Sunday afternoon

Now I want some….
OH MY GOODNESS! These are amazing! And I, even with my terrible prettycakemaking skillz could do this. Matter of fact, I think I will. My sister’s birthday is coming up soon. Guess what she’s getting….
I live in America and we have them too. They’re actually pretty common. They’re called Airheads Extremes.
*insert obligatory Double Rainbow meme joke here*
you can get those sweets everywhere in england. i get a few every time i go past a certain corner shop. they are about 10-20 pence each, but about twice that long. they are sooo good! sweet but sour and really chewy! we call them (*insert colour here*) straps. yum! i’m gonna go get one now!
Whereabouts do you live? just i’ve never seen them before and would love to make these cakes!

am i in heaven?
It’s an Airheads Extemes Sweetly Sour Belt. They’re slightly chewy, way too sour, not sweet enough to balance it out, and just generally not that good. I’ll take Rainbow Twizzlers any day.
The candy is really popular in holland
we also have them in different colors and lenghts!
They are called “zure matten” or “zure matjes” on google there are a lot of pictures
I just wish they had been DOUBLE RAINBOWS.
Seriously though, I feel 30% less hetero by volume and still think they rock!
Oh my God. I want to lick my computer screen. The blue frosting, it’s incredible!
We also did these awhile back, except the cupcakes were also rainbow.

there Called Airhead Xtreams you Can Buy Them Almost Everywhere I buy Mine at Walgreen’s They Taste So Good
We’ve had those type of sweets in South Africa for many years but we’ve never had them in rainbow stripes… only in solid or two colours. The red and green ones are the best!
u can get non airheads (me finky its allan of sumfink) at ur usual dollar store in the candy isle!!! out teacher gives them 2 us sumtimes (were in grade 6)!!
This is actually MY picture. I am assuming someone copied my photo and virtually passed it around as their own. But anyway, the rainbows are Airhead Sour Belts and the “marshmallow clouds” are just vanilla frosting.
Oh, and please take this off your site — unless you credit me for my photo/work. Thanks.
I’d be happy to credit your work, do you have a site or blog you’d like me to link to or would you just like me to credit you as “Monica Joy”?
It can be tricky finding the origin of an image as almost all our content is submitted by users and sometimes people don’t know where they came from.
Thanks!

Pish posh, everyone that “attempted” to make that design in the past has failed because ya’ll made it pretty, uhmmm, ugly. This one is obviously the best and prettiest and it actually looks edible, unlike ya’lls.
Good job ex co-worker! We miss you (:
<3 Bounce-a-Rama representative. HAHAHAHHAHAHA!!!
you’ve NEVER seen sour belts??? they’re my absolute favorite thing in the world!!! i usually get them at the movies. last year, my friend found this little candy shop that had them in swirls on a STICK, and gave me one for christmas.
airhead extremes. clouds are icing or melted marshmellow
RAINBOW BELTS!
It’s what they are.
And that is all they shall ever be.
