    it looks like they had a ‘swirly’ cupcake mold and then dipped into a melted pink frosting of some sort (cherry or strawberry).

    It’s really pretty, but I would hope that the perfect cupcake would be more natural-looking, with a buttercream swirl on top and legit sprinkles.

    Oh, wait- this is a cake, not a cupcake. Oh well, that’s pretty good fondant work.

    I don’t think it would be fondant if it was that smooth, it would be modeling chocolate because you can smooth out the seams. Sources: Series 1-3 of cake boss :)
