Epicute: Doing 30 Right

cute food photos - Epicute: Doing 30 Right

For my 30th birthday, I had a tray of cream puffs and a zombie-themed party. I mean, I’m 22! I’ll never get old! Ahem. If I ever do make it to the ripe old age of 30, roses may not be my style, but I could never resist a cake with so much gorgeous work. Gimme those cookies!

*in awe* that’s a freaking sweet cake! I love it. Any idea if the bottom layer is handpainted or printed? It looks fantastic!

wow! that must have taken forever!

The bottom layer pattern is the same as the pattern on the cookies at the top… I’d say printed :)

    Amaaaaaazing cake!

I think it’s hideous! I mean, the colors are ok. The top layer with the little baby pink flowers is adorable, and the ring of little white flowers is cute, but the rest is gross, especially the flower-sprawling on the bottom! Too many patterns! I would never want to eat this, let alone use it to celebrate a 30th birthday!

I’m torn. It IS hideous, but the elements are all wonderful…just an eyesore when put together. It would be much better as separate cakes, or even better, as a wallpaper (the one for your ACTUAL wall!) or a dress. Maybe curtains?

This cake was made by http://amelieshouse.blogspot.com/. There’s actually a bit of drama going on with this, story here on Amelie’s flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/neviepiecakes/5022052615/.

This looks like a cake that Emma Pillsbury would love.
