Wouldn’t you feel safer with a tiny friend in your pocket to whisper to?
I think you mean “octopi”.
Try checking your etymology before you correct people. Octopus comes from the Greek language, and the plural according to Greek grammar rules is “octopodes”. However, because English is not Greek, and the term is not derived from Latin, the correct plural is, in fact, octopuses.
Etymology man would be extremely dissatisfied.
Honestly though, all three are acceptable in English due to our love of breaking the rules.
